Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins is also referred to as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the United States and Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She currently works as an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She started working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from when she was nine years old. It is this skill which helped her obtain her first job as an Univision production assistant in Miami. In Miami, she collaborated with producers for National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was reporter for sports at The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. Then, in 2009 the reporter relocated into Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. She covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking in both Texas and Mexico. Also, she would fill in occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. She was then anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her more responsibility. She reported on The Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and NBA Postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and anchored it. She worked as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. The same role, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta's parents come from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November 1985. There is also a younger sibling. The family settled in Miami after moving from Mexico in the US. Then, shortly afterward the family split up, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He died from kidney cancer in 2006. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed a new job. Antonietta had just graduated high school, but was already aware of what she was going to do. As it turned out she loved the school and the university offered the major she was looking for. After high school, she graduated and began studying media at the university. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a part. They developed a close friendship. He was the one who boosted her confidence and whose passion for journalism deeply touched her. She determined to meet his demands and never let him down.
