Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her position as the Space and Defence Correspondent for CNN, she has for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and its recently created Space Force up until commercial space-related companies and the rise and development of tourism to space. Kristin's parents were each NASA astronauts. Kristin spent her childhood in space, and she has since worked as a White House reporter for FOX News reporting on the Biden and Trump Administrations' positions regarding space-related issues. Also, she covered the presidential election in 2020 and the efforts of two administrations in fighting the coronavirus. Additionally, she went on trips with President Trump and Vice President Biden often. The trip included a shady visit to Afghanistan. Prior to being hired by the channel in, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through the local news channels including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin's skills as a camerawoman led her to found Field Mouse Films which specialized creating documentary-style films for clients of corporate nature, like Uber Hotels & Resorts, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. She is married to her husband and their two children in Washington, D.C., and has a three-year old daughter.
